Otto Gallery presents “Hortus. Patience and Grace”

23 October - 2024

Otto Gallery, in via d’Azeglio, a few steps from Galleria Cavour, proposes a new exhibition appointment with culture and beauty. The “Hortus” project, in fact, follows the previous exhibition “Stazionari Altrove“, successfully presented by the artistic container in 2023.

Curated by Davide Benati, the exhibition is a journey towards the care and pursuit of beauty. The title immediately recalls bucolic scenarios of the past and, in fact, it is precisely from such a context that the idea that without care and dedication there can be no grace and harmony takes its inspiration: the Roman Horti or the medieval Hortus conclusus typical, for example, of the monasteries of the time. The garden thus becomes a metaphor for life: a mirror in which to admire the beauty of nature, which requires time, passion and attention in order to express itself at its best. The garden thus becomes a metaphor for life: a mirror in which to admire the beauty of nature, which requires time, passion and attention to express itself at its best.

The exhibition, which can be visited from mid-October until 21 December 2024, features the works of four artists who dialogue and confront each other on this theme. Davide Benati, Gianni Dessì, Enrico Minguzzi and Nicola Samorì present their own vision on the subject through their works. The metaphor of the Hortus thus becomes even clearer and more meaningful as the garden becomes synonymous with a place of work in transformation and its fruits the consequent result of an indissoluble symbiosis between the natural world and the human world, between intellect and spirituality.

Otto Gallery thus confirms itself as one of the most interesting artistic realities in the Bolognese panorama, capable of giving space to emerging talents in the contemporary art world and prominence to names already established in the sector on a national and international level. In a short time it has thus become a reference point for enthusiasts and critics, but also a jewel that citizens have come to know and appreciate.

Among its recent public successes, it is impossible not to mention the exhibition “It’s (not) only rock’n’roll. The photographs of Mark Allan“, which brought the myth of rock stars to the city thanks to a retrospective on one of the greatest living music photographers. With “Hortus. Patience and Grace”, the museum is once again ready to amaze and confirm itself as an increasingly lively place for culture and innovation.
