The Collectibles is the new capsule collection from Jaeger-LeCoultre

The Collectibles is the name of Jaeger-LeCoultre's new project, which aims to bring back to light extremely rare and sought-after Reverso models from decades past. Just like the artistic and architectural references of the 1920s and 1930s, the timepieces in this latest collection are inspired by Art Deco and the historical period from which they originate.

For years, the Swiss watchmaker has been running a programme, The Collectibles, through which it tracks down and restores rare, museum-quality models, giving them new lustre. Through this capsule collection, the maison is enhancing its historical heritage by restoring and promoting rare and emblematic watches.

The aim, which is decidedly ambitious and appealing to any collector, is to wear a genuine treasure on your wrist, faithfully restored by the maison, and to own not only a precious watch but a real piece of history.

The latest collection, presented in Paris, consists of ten pieces accompanied by a book that pays homage to their history and context. The common thread running through these exclusive models is the centenary of the invention of the Duoplan movement, which represents a milestone in the brand's history and a turning point; starting in the 1920s, it allowed Jaeger-LeCoultre to open up to a female audience as well as a strictly male one.

It should be noted that the watches in the capsule collection are not replicas but archive pieces that have been carefully verified by historians and industry experts. If, during restoration, components that are no longer available are required, they are handcrafted using traditional methods to ensure the model's authenticity and historical accuracy. Original integrity is at the heart of this restoration work, which focuses on mechanical functions rather than aesthetic refurbishment. The collection thus stands as a bridge between the past and the future, celebrating the heritage of Jaeger-LeCoultre through luxury and timeless beauty.
