Reverso webcomic

Jaeger-LeCoultre never ceases to amaze: the Swiss-based haute horlogerie company has once again succeeded in combining tradition and innovation. The first webcomic dedicated to the history of the famous Reverso has been created.

It is an illustrated tribute: a true visual journey that speaks today’s language while recounting the past of a compelling, unique and timeless story that only the great classics can embody. Designed as a vertically scrolling comic strip, the digital story is perfect for mobile platforms and delves not only into the history of the iconic model made famous around the world, but also into that of its creators.

Written and illustrated by renowned designer Olivecoat, the graphic novel is set in 1927 and features Jean-Pierre de Trey, a curious and enthusiastic young man determined to help his father run their business, Jacques-David LeCoultre, a Swiss watchmaker of prestigious origins, and Jeanne Pellet, a valuable secretary and indispensable pillar of the company.

Between polo matches, brilliant insights and thrilling adventures, readers will be guided on a journey to discover the origins of the legend and learn about the incredible entrepreneurial history of Jaeger-LeCoultre from a new and fascinating perspective. Olivecoat himself explains how illustrated storytelling is a means of connecting, reflecting and revealing human stories and truths.

Creativity, expertise and precision have always been values that the watch brand conveys through high-profile artistic collaborations. Drawing inspiration from the historical heritage of the Reverso, the story retraces archival events with a pop graphic style reminiscent of oriental manga, in an aesthetic dialogue that embraces two worlds and two cultures. The webcomic, which aims to revive the classic codes of the ninth art in a modern format, is also available on the Swiss maison’s official website. It should be noted that the maison boasts a prestigious flagship store in Bologna‘s Galleria Cavour.
