Omega: a collector’s limited edition to celebrate the Olympics

The Paris Olympics will undoubtedly be the event that will catalyse attention this summer 2024. Omega, the excellence of luxury watchmaking, will be present during the event as Official Timekeeper for the 31st time in the history of the games: ready to witness the records, achievements and dreams of the world’s best athletes.
As gold is the material that all competing sportsmen and women aspire to, the symbolic watch of this event could only have a golden touch inside. The new Seamaster Driver 300M, in fact, is a celebratory limited edition that is also exceptionally present in Bologna at the prestigious Bartorelli jewellery store, which is the official retailer of the maison.
It is an exclusive and highly sought-after timepiece of rare beauty, featuring a 42mm stainless steel case with an 18K gold bezel. The commemorative case back features an applied steel medallion with the Olympic rings and the inscription “Paris 2024” as well as the official logo of the games.
After all, the link between the brand and the Olympics is a long-standing one: a sign of the reliability and high precision expressed by Omega’s chronometers since 1932, the year of the company’s debut at the Los Angeles Games. William Henry, sports technical director at the time, wrote: “It is impossible to contemplate the wonderful Olympic Games without acknowledging the role played by Omega in this great international event”.
Indeed, the history of the games is linked to the achievements witnessed by the brand’s chronometers such as, for example, those that sanctioned Jesse Owens‘ four memorable gold medals in the 1936 Berlin games or those of the contemporary era when, from 1964, the process of electronic timing in performance measurement began. Since time immemorial, the Olympics have told our story through the exploits of extraordinary men; this is why the watch that symbolises Paris 2024 had to be just as extraordinary: come and discover in Galleria Cavour a commemorative and collectors’ limited edition, destined to become as mythical as the event it represents.
