Art and fashion meet in the Miu Miu store in Galleria Cavour

7 May - 2021

Visitors to the Galleria Cavour are well aware that this is not only the commercial epicenter of the city, especially if we are talking about big brands shopping, but it is above all an artistic and historical place in Bologna: a symbol, since the architect’s Guglielmo Ulrich ambitious project, of avant-garde and renewed confidence in the future. However, the portion he designed, with entrance from via Farini 14, has much deeper roots in the history of the city: an example is the patrician residence of Palazzo Vassè Pietramellara and some shops that now inhabit a part of it.

The Miu Miu boutique, appreciated all over the world, is perhaps the most exceptional example. Inside, the creations of the Miuccia Prada fashion house can boast an unrepeatable historical setting that, if possible, enhances their value and beauty even more. The landscape-themed frescoes belong to the Carracci school of the seventeenth century, while the middle room boasts works by Bartolomeo Morelli and Domenico Santi. The Red Room, on the other hand, welcomes and raises the clothes of the maison thanks to the wonderful ceiling dating back to the nineteenth century by the workshop of Antonio Basoli.

Here, among cornucopias, satyrs and divinities, we witness the combination of fashion and art: a true ecstasy that makes the Miu Miu store in Galleria Cavour the perfect synthesis between the past and the contemporary. It is therefore no coincidence that one of the first events of this season, in the name of rebirth and Spring, sees the Miu Miu boutique as the protagonist in Galleria Cavour. Here, in fact, in the month of May, a show will celebrate the presentation of the brand new collection that we will be ready, as always, to report you about!
