K-Way celebrates its first 60 years

It is a symbolic and important anniversary that K-Way is about to cross. Sixty years after its creation, the brand, also present in Bologna in our Galleria Cavour, has much to celebrate.
It was 1965 when the now famous anorak, which has become in the collective imagination almost as famous as the brand itself, was invented and patented by Leon Claude Duhamel outside the famous Café de la Paix in Paris. As indispensable as an umbrella on rainy days, but decidedly more practical and glamorous, this comfortable outerwear revolutionised forever the idea of comfort to become ubiquitous in all our wardrobes.
While remaining true to its essence, through careful and constant research into materials and technology, the brand has evolved over the decades to become increasingly contemporary, functional and chic, and has moved away from the simple sporty dimension. This is demonstrated by the continuous collaborations with famous companies in the sector, the constant appeal on the market, and the recent collections that have, over time, even conquered Milanese haute couture, as testified by the fashion shows at Milan Fashion Week in recent years.
Precisely at the Museo della Permanente in Milan, this month, K-Way presents a fascinating thematic exhibition entitled “Y/our Life” that tells the stories of the most common design objects and their evolution into true universal symbols of pop culture. This is just the beginning of a birthday that will not cease to hold surprises in store for its fans over the next twelve months. We had a foretaste, after all, with the latest collaboration between the brand and Woolmark, which gave rise to a capsule collection where the quality of the unbeatable technical waterproof outerwear met the exclusive softness of Merino wool.
On the other hand, the fashion turning point of the fashion house seems unstoppable: all of us now want a practical and technical mackintosh without renouncing style and elegance. K-Way has been able to respond to this need and the important milestone on the horizon certifies, in fact, the success of a winning bet.
