Bottega Veneta loves design
It had already happened and it happened again: the Bottega Veneta show at Milan Fashion Week was not just a catwalk show but a true immersion in the world of art, starting from the front row.
On their arrival, in fact, stars of the calibre of Jacob Elordi, Michelle Yeoh and Kendall Jenner, together with all the other guests present, found irreverent poufs inspired by the animal world to welcome them. Lying on seats in the shape of a rabbit, a horse or a ladybird, to name but a few, they watched the collection previewed by Matthieu Blazy.
The desire of the designer, a great lover of design, was to make those present sit on a material reminiscent of the same softness that has always distinguished the maison’s iconic bags. Inspired by Zanotta’s 1968 Sacco chair, a total of sixty poufs were recreated for the occasion. Each animal was matched with a precise allegory.
Now the seats can be purchased on the site for a limited time: there are only two copies for each animal, so those interested should hurry. Comfortable, fun and made entirely of leather, they remind us that fashion is first and foremost a playful experiment. This is not the first time the brand has been linked to such initiatives. Still vivid in the collective memory is the collaboration with the revolutionary designer Gaetano Pesce who, for the Summer 23 fashion show, signed the breathtaking set-up composed of 400 resin chairs that had the ambition of being unique pieces in homage to diversity, as one was different from the other.
Again, the chairs were then sold on the site in record time with an advertisement starring Kate Moss in an iconic shot without veils. What the next artistic collaboration will be is unknown to us, but we are certain that Bottega Veneta’s imagination and creative flair will surprise us once again.
