Richard Ginori represents Italian excellence in the field of porcelain. This is one of the reasons why it is one of the most beloved and sought-after brands in the boutique that the renowned designer Fabrizio Cocchi runs in Galleria Cavour.

The history of this brand stretches back to 1735, when Marquis Carlo Andrea Ginori established his company in Doccia, near Florence, to take on France and Germany, which had until then dominated the market.

The strength of the Ginori manufactory lay precisely in its Italian character: it succeeded in blending neoclassical and baroque influences with an elegant and refined aesthetic. This stylistic signature enabled the maison to establish itself rapidly throughout Europe and broaden its horizons with the merger, in the late 19th century, of the Società Ceramica Richard in Milan.

This move enabled the company to expand its large-scale production and forge increasingly international partnerships with renowned artists and designers. Indeed, this is one of the factors that has contributed most to its success: its connection with the art world.

Long before many others, Ginori pioneered what is now all the rage in the world of luxury craftsmanship: collaborations. In the 20th century, the porcelain collections, ranging from tableware to decorative objects, began to be regarded as true works of art, even exhibited in museums and international collections.

It is in this context that some of the brand’s most iconic collections were born: the Vecchio Ginori collection, for example, characterised by decorations that evoke the ornamental motifs of 18th-century Florence, or Antico Doccia, which stands out for its minimalist style. Among the most popular current collections, however, we cannot fail to mention "Oriente Italiano": the vibrant colours used to depict the carnations pay homage to both Asian and Italian art.

Even today, therefore, Richard Ginori demonstrates an extraordinary ability to evolve over time, whilst always maintaining a strong artistic identity. Each of its collections tells a different story, yet all are capable of transforming everyday objects into unique experiences.
